5 Ways to Nurture Our Dreams and Goals
It takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes a community to nurture a dream into fruition. This is why it’s so important to have a supportive environment to help you keep moving forward with your goals and dreams, especially when the going gets tough. Here are just a few ways to nourish your dreams and stay on track:
1. Nurture your dreaming mind.
The first step to reaching your goals is having a clear vision of what you want to accomplish. The best way to do this is by creating a list of your dreams and setting appropriate goals to get you there. This will give you a roadmap to follow and make it more likely that your dreams will come true.
2. Find your motivational “why”.
In order to reach your dreams, you need to find the motivation within yourself. This can be difficult, especially if you have been conditioned to think of your dreams as unrealistic and impractical. However, if you can find the motivation to push through, even when you are feeling down, your dreams and goals will still be there waiting for you on the other side.
3. Focus on your aspirations, not your fears.
Aspirations are a more holistic approach to goal setting that is focused on the internal drive to achieve something rather than external factors. For example, if you have an aspiration to be a better actor you can use that as motivation to work towards your goal of becoming one by studying acting classes or practicing daily. This is more sustainable than focusing on your fear of not being good enough, which can lead to an unhealthy cycle of negativity and self-doubt.
4. Create a mindset of expansion.
Dreams are a big-picture view of your life and what you want it to look like, while goals are the smaller components that will get you there. This is why it’s so important that you set goals and strive for them, but also that you regularly reflect on your progress and refocus on the reasons behind what you are doing. This will ensure that you are staying on track to meet your dream.
5. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals.
No matter how far away your dreams are, it’s always important to surround yourself with people who can support you in reaching them. This can be done through networking events, a personal mentor, or even simply asking for help. This will help to inspire you and motivate you on your journey, and it will be more fun along the way.
Nourishing our dreams and goals is so important because they are the seeds that will grow into the future reality that you want to live in. So, whether it is to travel the world, be a great actor, or start your own business, be sure to plant those seeds and let them grow! You never know, they may just become your reality.
